 Ancona
Airport is in the Marche region on the east coast of Italy
near the city of Ancona. The airport's location on the
Adriatic coast makes it a popular destination for holiday-makers
visiting the resorts along the coast around Ancona such
as Sirolo and Portonovo to the south and Senigallia and
Fano to the north. The airport is also known as Ancona
- Falconara after the local town of Falconara Marittima
and is a relatively small airport handling approximately
half a million passengers each year. Over 100,000 passengers
fly to Ancona from the United Kingdom annually and the
budget airline, Ryanair, provides a regular service from
London Stansted. The airport has two terminals: one for
Departures; the other for Arrivals. There are snack bars
in both terminals as well as a self-service restaurant
in the building between them. Other facilities at the
Ancona Airport include newsagents, tobacconists, duty-free,
chemists and a souvenir shop.
